Create free xml swf slideshow with thumbnails

The xml swf slideshow tutorial includes the following 4 steps:

Step 1: Download free xml swf slideshow template

Download free xml swf slideshow template (it is provided by flash-gallery.com) and unzip it. The package should include images folder, gallery.xml file and slideshow.swf file.

Open slideshow.swf file to see the original samples as below picture:

Step 2: Add photos and custom background image

Choose your favorite digital photos and add to image folder. If you want to change a background image, please set its name as "bg", such as "bg.jpg", and then delete the original one.

Step 3: Edit XML file for adding digital photos

Open gallery.xml file with a text editor, such as Dreamweaver MX. You will notice that all images are described with the following XML tags. You can place as many images as you want by copy and paste the <item> tag. You just need to revise the red value of "source" attribute to your own photo name.

You can also add captions for your photos by revise the blue value of "description" attribute. The "link" attribute is for previewing your photos.

Step 4: Upload your xml swf slideshow on website
